Access Statement For Eleven Westgate
Introduction
Amanda and Mike at Eleven Westgate aim to cater for the needs of all our guests
in our home based, 3 bedroom bed and breakfast. The
following statement summarises our situation. If you have any further questions
please feel free to call us and we will do our very best to help.
Pre-Arrival
• The main bus stop is a 5 minute walk from our front
door along level paths.
• We offer free pick ups (wherever possible and with prior arrangement) for
those unable to walk with bags etc.
• The main train station is in Malton which is 15 minutes away by car.

• We are a 4 minute walk from the main shopping area of Pickering.
• All of our rooms are on the first floor and so are unsuitable for those
unable to climb stairs.
• We are happy to offer assistance with taking bags etc to your room upon
arrival.
• We also have a downstairs cloakroom / boot room which can be used by guests .
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
• There is ample unrestricted on street parking to the front and rear of our
property with low kerbs and no gradients.
• Assistance with luggage is always offered to our guests
• There are three steps up to the entrance lobby which is well lit from the
outside at night.
• We have an external old fashioned pull style bell and our telephone number is
displayed externally.
• Our entrance lobby is always open during daylight and evening hours except in
cases of extreme weather or late at night.
Main Entrance & Reception
• The entrance lobby leads to the hall way with lounge
to the left and stairs straight ahead.
• Assistance with luggage is always offered.
• Additionally if guests wish to rest in the lounge a while we will take
luggage to the room and offer light refreshments.
• A rear and side entrance is also available for alternative parking or for
access with bulky luggage or equipment.
• Additionally access can be provided to the rear for direct access to boot /
drying room.
• All facilities are explained on arrival and advice provided on local
attractions and places to eat.
• Keys to guest rooms and external doors are provided. All locks are yale type locks.
• We will also offer to reserve tables or book activities if required.
• Lounge and dining areas are on the ground floow
with all guest bedrooms on the first floor.
• Additional keys for twin rooms are available on request.
• Lighting in all areas can be low for relaxing or bright for reading.
Public Areas - General (Internal)
• Guests have access to ground and first floors via a two level staircase with
sturdy banisters.
• All floors are light carpet.
• All doors are wood, normal side opening types with round door knobs.
• The internal lobby door is half wood and half (partially) stained glass.
• All lighting can be low for relaxing or bright for reading etc.
• Short telephone calls may be made free of charge to

• We have a downstairs cloakroom which guests can use
if requested.
Restaurant / Dining Room, Bar & Lounges, Take Away &
Cafe
• Breakfast is served on the ground floor.
• The breakfast room offers flexible seating on a large or
smaller tables.
• It has a single wooden door.
• It is carpeted and well lit with an external window offering views of the
garden.
• Breakfast menu and room information can be printed in larger font if
required.
• Vegetarian breakfast is available and questions on special
dietary requirement is asked at the time of booking.

• We offer secure bike and equipment storage with
access from the front and rear of the property.
• Access to the boot / drying room is available from the front and rear of the
property.

Bedrooms
• All three bedrooms are on the first floor.
• They are accessed by 12 then 6 steps on a split level.
• Rooms have TV's with Teletext offering subtitles
• Bells are provided in corridors to call for assistance
• Carpets are all light colour and short pile.
• Locks are all Yale style
• Two beds are standard height divans and one slightly higher cast iron bed
frame.
• All beds have access from both sides and two rooms can be converted from
double to twin via zip-link.
• Rooms have both bedside lamps with energy saving bulbs and main ceiling
lights.
• All rooms have thermostatic radiator valves and large opening sash style
windows.
• Decor is light and neutral throughout
• All rooms have at easy one mid or high back chair.
• All rooms have hot drink making facilities with small corded kettles.
• All rooms have suitcase stands.
Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [Ensuite
or Shared]
• Two rooms have ensuite shower rooms with standard
shower trays and standard height sinks and toilets.
• One room has an ensuite bathroom with standard
height bath with shower over and standard height sink and toilet.
• Rooms have separate hot and cold taps on the sinks and (bath)
• All showers have thermostatic controls marked hot and cold (without specific
numeric temperature displays)
• Floor surface is cushion flooring.
